Introducing The Ecological Soil School at Bumblebee Flower Farm

Bumblebee Flower Farm, based in Drimoleague, West Cork offers a range of courses and workshops designed to empower you to make holistic decisions and learn how to implement their ‘Whole’ Systems Approach in your garden or farm. I first met owner and founder Mags Riordan on my Eco Tour of Ireland in 2014. I was immediately struck by her absolute passion for growing organic healthy flowers and her incredible dedication to cultivating healthy soil.

Mags has since decided to focus on sharing her indepth knowledge of soil health and healthy ecosystem processes with her on farm ecological soil school:

Plant, animal and human health is directly related to the health of your soil, with a fully functioning soil food web nutrients are cycled reducing or eliminating the need for costly inputs, while producing healthy plants which are no longer attractive to pests. Only unhealthy, artificially fed, stressed plants can provide the nutrition these pests need.

Soil health and ecosystem function equals minimizing and reversing climate change, reducing and restoring biodiversity loss, restoring a functioning water cycle by acting like a sponge, creating a gentler climate and producing nutrient dense food for humans and all life on earth.

Now, who doesn’t want that?!
By educating ourselves and implementing what we learn we can ALL help improve our future here on Earth. Discover more about Mags on her profile page here and check out her upcoming Workshop:
