Clifden Eco Beach Camping & Caravan Site
Leaving Westport I headed on over to Clifden in Galway to meet Kris Acton of Clifden Eco Beach Camping & Caravan Site.
Kris and Tatjana Acton run this Gold Eco Certified Camping and Caravan Site just two minutes from Claddaghduff in Clifden, Co Galway.
Situated on a listed geology site this campsite is the perfect destination for nature lovers with the nearby Scuba Dive West offering snorkelling and diving in Streamstown Bay on one side with a beautiful sandy beach on the other.
With full shower and kitchen facilities the eco ethos here is strong with plastic water bottles banned and only biological bathroom cleansers allowed.
Lot’s of info on the local area and trails is available in the kitchen area plus their handmade bbq’s can be taken to the beach (bring the ash back with you) and the guys will organise lifts from local bus station and indeed the pub if the weather gets really bad!
