Guided Woodlands Walk & Flat Water River Adventure Along The River Barrow.
On Our Tranquility Trail you can enjoy an immersive experience in nature starting with a riverside walk that ventures into a lush forest. After soaking up a nature experience on land we enjoy a relaxing paddle along the Barrows 250 year old navigation.

Duration: You will need to set aside up to 3 hours – this includes:
- A guided riverside and forest walk which brings us to our starting point for your river adventure. This adventure is with double Canadian Canoes that seats 2 adults.
- Meet & Greet
- Guided walk with stories and viewing points. This will take approximately one hour.
- Get geared up in the changing facilities on site.
- Everybody will be provided with the required gear including buoyancy jackets and helmets. There will be experienced personnel on the water with you.
- Safety chat before getting on the water.
- Demonstration – how to hold the paddle and what strokes to use.
- 10 minutes warm up in the Old Harbour – We start off in an area of flat calm water to learn the basics, build your confidence and then off we go.
- The trail then heads down river where you can go with the flow and take in breath-taking views.
- We then paddle into the lock at Ballykeenan and see how they operate.
- You will have a ton of fun. Our events are run in a safe environment..
Important information: -Participants must be able to swim.
Please Bring:
- Older footwear like trainers or runners – essential
- Swimwear
- Towel
- Light windproof jacket
- Extra layer as the daily weather would dictate (not cotton)
- Sunscreen – fingers crossed
- Wetsuits are not required for this event but you are welcome to bring your own should you wish.
- Full change of clothes is also recommended.
